Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent secondary environmental pollution by waste liquid, by cleaning used culture liquid with a soil-cleaning apparatus, sterilizing the cleaned liquid and using the product as the raw water for culture liquid. CONSTITUTION:Waste culture liquid A is supplied to a soil-cleaning apparatus 3 with a pump P1 at a definite rate according to the cleaning capacity. The cleaned and sterilized water B is collected in a collecting tank 4, transferred to a sterilization tank 5 with a pump P2 and subjected to batch sterilization treatment by the exposure to ozone. The sterilized water C is sent to a storage tank 6 with a pump P3. The surface layer of the soil-cleaning apparatus 3 is composed of a soil layer 19 having excellent air-permeability (e.g. a mixture of seedling bed soil, sand and humus soil). A water-sprinkling pipe 21 having a number of perforations and encircled with a conglomerate layer 20 is embedded in the layer 19. A water-impermeable receiving trough 22 is placed under the water-sprinkling pipe 21 and the upper and the lower parts of the conglomerate layer 20 are encircled with a net 23. A cleaning layer 26 composed of a sand layer 24 and a seedling bed soil layer is provided and a water-collection pipe 28 is placed below the cleaning layer.
