Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce by a signal system a user desires with one set of device by providing a circuit, which converts a reproducing video signal to the TV system of another system whose number of scanning lines and the number of fields are different, to a video signal reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing video signal inputted to a signal input terminal 101 is separated to a luminance signal and a chrominance signal in a Y/C separating circuit 102. The luminance signal is decoded from a carrier color signal to a color difference signal through an A/D converter 103, and the chrominance signal is decoded from the carrier color signal to the color difference signal by a decoder 104. Then, the two color difference signals are obtained as a time-dividing multiplex signal in an MPX105 and after that, they are written through an A/D converter 106 to a field memory 107. The luminance and color difference signals read from the memory 107 are interpolated with scanning lines directly or through a delay device 109 (to be delayed for one horizontal scanning period to be different according to the system) in a scanning line interpolating circuit 110. The interpolated luminance and color difference signals are mixed by an adder 115 respectively through a DA converter 111, a DA converters 112 and 113 and an encoder 114, and they are outputted 119 as a composite video signal.
