Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure hyaluronic acid with high sensitivity by forming the hyaluronic acid bondable protein fixed to a solid phase, specimen hyaluronic acid and labeled hyaluronic acid bondable protein to a sandwich-like conjugate.
CONSTITUTION: The hyaluronic acid bondable protein is first fixed to the surface of the solid phase. A sample contg. the specimen hyaluronic acid is then added to the hyaluronic acid bondable protein fixed to the solid phase to bond the high-molecular hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid bondable protein previously labeled with a labeling material is added further to the above-mentioned solid phase. The sandwich-like conjugate of the hyaluronic acid bondable protein fixed to the solid phase and the labeled hyaluronic acid bondable protein is thereby formed. This sandwich-like conjugate sandwiches the high-molecular hyaluronic acid to be measured and the low-molecular hyaluronic acid which is not the object to be measured is not formed in the above-mentioned conjugate. Since the labeling material is detected, the high-molecular hyaluronic acid is selectively detectable and inflammations such as rheumatism are effectively diagnosable.
