Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the key word retrieving efficiency for a Japanese sentence data base and also to reduce the key word memory capacity, by extracting key words and also deleting the improper ones out of these extracted key words. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a case approving part 14, an emerging position approving part 15 and a case emerging position deciding part 16. The part 14 approves the cases to be defined for the key word candidates in an original Japanese sentence. The part 15 approves the emerging positions of those key word candidates in the original Japanese sentence. Then the part 16 decide whether a relevant key word candidate should be defined as a key word or not based on the combining conditions of the case and the emerging position of said key word in the sentence. Then the rejected key words are deleted out of the candidate words. Thus the key word is effectively retrieved for a Japanese sentence data base and at the same time the memory capacity is reduced for the key word in the data base.
