Abstract

PURPOSE:To display adequate words for a document to be register as key words in the order of the frequency of appearance in the document, by storing a memory with a dictionary table which contains inadequate words as key words by fields. CONSTITUTION:A sequence of information characters inputted with keys on a keyboard 5 is written in the input data buffer memory INDB and output data buffer memory DDB of an RAM15 successively, and then edited into a format for registration. Then, the information character sequence to be registered of the edited document is stored in the key word register KR of the RAM15. A field wherein key words are retrieved is determined and adequate words as key words are classified by being listed. Independent words in the document are selected to find nouns in a dictionary table NST for noun selection, and a field-classified dictionary table KST is retrieved to store only nouns, registered in the field, in a key word count register KCR. Those stored words are displayed in the order of the frequency of appearance.
