Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which is readily sensitive to ultraviolet rays and forms a nonsticky film on a copper-clad laminate, containing a specified cationic vinyl resin. CONSTITUTION:An unsaturated monomer (A) is obtained by reacting 1mol. of an unsaturated monomer (a) having one polymerizable unsaturated group and 1sec amino group in the molecule with 0.01-5mol. of benzo quinonediazidosulfonyl halide and/or naphthoquinonediazidosulfonyl halide (b) in an organic solvent (e.g., dioxane) in an amount of 100-10,000pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. component (b). 5-98wt.% component A is copolymerized with 2-60wt.% unsaturated amine monomer (B) [e.g., aminoethyl (meth)acrylate] and, optionally, 0-90wt.% monoethylenically unsaturated monomer (C) (e.g., styrene) at 30-120 deg.C for 2-20hr in the presence of a polymerization catalyst in an organic solvent (e.g., ethylene glycol) to obtain a cationic vinyl resin. After the amino groups of this resin are neutralized, it is dispersed or dissolved in water.
