Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in the capability of forming a coating film on edges, transparency of the formed film, etc., by mixing a thermosetting resin with transparent fine silica and/or alumina powders of a specified particle diameter and two specified organic solvents at a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. thermosetting resin (A) (e.g., acrylic or melamine resin) is mixed with 5-35pts.wt. transparent fine silica and/or alumina powders of a particle diameter of 5-50mmu (B) and an organic solvent (C) comprising 10-70wt.% polar organic solvent (e.g., methyl isobutyl ketone) of a b.p. <=130 deg.C and 90-30wt.% nonpolar organic solvent (e.g., toluene of a b.p. of 105-250 deg.C so that the solid content at the time of painting may be 20-50wt.% The obtained coating composition can be suitably used for painting especially a disc type cast aluminum alloy wheel as an automobile tire attachment member.
