Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide in a turbine system of a nuclear power plant of the forward drain pump up method heater drain lines and washing lines of both high pressure and low pressure feedwater heaters so as to lessen the exposure to radiation at the time of inspection. CONSTITUTION: The cleaning water in a cleaning water tank 16 is drawn from a line 13, through branch pipes 13a, 13b, 13c, and into a drain pipe of a high- pressure feedwater heater 10, a drain pipe of a low-pressure feedwater heater, and a drain pipe of a moisture-separating heater 4, and each flushing line is operated by manipulating valves. The drain water is drawn through a drain line 14 to a main condenser 6, and furthermore purified at a condensate-purifying system 8. Next by the use of a water quality-measuring apparatus 5 the electric conductivity or turbidity of the drain is measured in a manner of measuring the water quality and judging the cleaning effect. Then the cleaning is completed. This constitution enables lessening the quantities of metal impurities brought in and lessening the amount of exposure to radiation at the time of inspection.
