Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve C/N in short wavelength recording by forming a fine particle coated layer on a high-polymer film and disposing a fine ferromagnetic metallic film consisting of fine columnar particles having the particle diameter of <=2 times the particle diameter of the fine particles of the fine particle coated layer on said layer. CONSTITUTION:The fine particle coated layer 2 is formed on the high-polymer film 1 consisting of polyethylene terephtalate, polyethylene naphthalate, polyphenylene sulfide, etc. The fine particle coated layer 2 is formed by fixing the fine particles 3 of SiO2, CaCO3, BaSO4, etc., having diameter do(Angstrom ) by a resin 4 such as polyester, polyurethane or epoxy. The fin ferromagnetic metallic film 5 is provided on this fine particle coated layer 2. The fine ferromagnetic metallic film 5 is formed of the fine columnar particles 6. The particle diameter (d) of the fine columnar particles 6 is required to be <=2 times the particle diameter do of the fine particles 3. The diagonally vapor deposited film of Co-Cr, Co-Ti, Co-Ta, etc., is exemplified as the fine ferromagnetic metallic film 5. The C/N in short wavelength recording and reproduction is thereby improved.
