Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a slide surface completely from even fine intruding chips by providing an air jet means for jetting air between a slider and a guide. CONSTITUTION:A chip intrusion blocking plate 10 is fixed to a carriage 30 by a screw 18 and the contact portions of the lower surface of said plate 10 and the upper surface 5 of a partition plate 3 are formed longitudinally of a bed 1 with two air jet chambers 11, 12. To the longitudinal end of said plate 10 is connected an air supply joint for supplying compressed air which is supplied to said chamber 12 through said chamber 11 and a communicating hole to be jetted always from a gap between said plate 10 and the upper surface 5 for preventing a slide surface from the intrusion of chips. Thus, even if chips intrude temporarily onto the upper surface 5 of said plate 3, they are blown off by air jetted from said chamber 12 and further chips which cannot be eliminated by such air can be eliminated by air from the next air jet chamber 11.
