Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a composition, capable of improving water absorption properties without impairing mechanical properties, molding processability and flexibility and useful especially as heat-sensitive elements of electric heating blankets or carpets, by blending a polyamide with a copolyamide having a specific low moisture absorption capacity. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide composition consisting of (A) 99.9-30pts.wt. polyamide polymer (e.g. nylon 6 or nylon 66), (B) 0.1-70pts.wt. copolyamide prepared by copolymerizing (B1) 99-5pts.wt. preferably 95-30pts.wt. polyamide high polymer component having one or more recurring units expressed by formula I or II [n is 5-11; X is expressed by formula III (m is 6-12), isophorone, phenylene or cyclohexylene group; Y is expressed by formula IV (l is 4-10), phenylene or cyclohexylene group) with (B2) 1-95pts.wt., preferably 5-70pts.wt. polyolefin component having COOH, NH2 or OH at both terminals and 500-10,000 average mol.wt.
