Abstract

PURPOSE:To make conduction of an excitation current in an electromagnetic coil needless at all times for closing and tripping periods by juxtaposing a superconductive coil and a normal conduction coil with an electromagnetic attraction coil. CONSTITUTION:When an excitation current is conducted in a normal conduction coil 4, absorption force acts between an electromagnetic coil 1 and a short- circuit plate 6 so that it overwhelms an action of a trip spring 7, so that contacts 1 and 8 become closed-circuit. Then a permanent current is made to flow in a superconductive coil 5 by a magnetic flux generated in a core 3. Even if the excitation current in the normal conduction coil 4 is stopped afterwards, the flux is maintained in the core 3 and so the contactors 1 and 8 are kept closed-circuit. On a tripping operation the current is conducted to the normal conduction coil 4 reversely to the direction on the closing operation so as to cancel the magnetic flux in the core 3, so that the permanent current of the superconductive coil 5 is canceled to erase the absorption force of the electromagnetic coil 17. The contactors 1 and 8 are hence made open-circuit by the tripping spring 7.
