Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the exposure of all side faces of a thimble to a coolant flow by providing a lower fitting section which surrounds the lower section of a thimble guide at the position of the upper surface of a lower reactor core plate and an upper fitting section which surrounds the upper section of the thimble guide by utilizing the elastic force of bellows. CONSTITUTION: The conical upper end section of a thimble guide 15 is led to a lower opening formed of the skirt 43 of a lower fitting member 41 as an extending device 40 for thimble guide is lowered and the device 40 is pushed down until positioning fingers 44 are inserted into the peripheral groove 33 of the guide 15. The internal wall surface 42a of a flange 42 and the lower internal wall surface 43a of the skirt 43 are engaged with the external surface section corresponding to the guide 15 by clearance-free seal-tight fit. The member 41 is fixed to the lower section of the guide 15 in the axial direction by the fingers 44 inserted into the groove 33. The lower surface 8 of a platform 7 is seal-tight engaged with the upper surface of a cap 46 by utilizing the elastic force of bellows 48.
