Abstract

PURPOSE:To set select signal classification data from a maintenance console or the like to flexibly use a select signal by providing a register or the like to and from which select signal classification data is set and read out by an input/output instruction of software of communication control. CONSTITUTION:The classification of the select signal to be sent to a line connected to a communication controller 20 is preliminarily set on a maintenance console of a store and forward device, and this set data is reported to the communication controller 20 by software of a central processing unit 10, and the communication controller 20 sets this select signal classification data to a select signal classification set register 3 of a network controller 2 by the control of a communication control CPU 1. When the select signal classification is determined once, number information of the select signal is received by a select signal sending circuit 6 and is converted to the select signal in accordance with the select signal classification set to the select signal classification set register 3 and is sent to the line at the time of performing the calling operation hereafter.
