Abstract

PURPOSE:To inexpensively produce fine spherodial copper powder in which respective copper powder particles are spheroidal and contain extremely few flocculated particles by bringing sprayed copper powders having irregular shapes into impingement against each other with a fluid energy mill which is not equipped with impingement boards. CONSTITUTION:Molten copper is discharged from the fine hole of a vessel and a compressed gas or water flow jet is blown thereto to splash the copper and to produce the sprayed copper having the irregular shapes. The copper powder having <=10mum grain size is sprayed and is brought into impingement against each other with the fluid energy mill which uses the air as fluid and is not equipped with the impingement boards, by which the copper powder having the spheroidal shape is inexpensively produced.
