Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a sufficient brightness life by furnishing an EL (Electroluminescence) membrane and a coverage layer consisting of a nitride on the upper and the side surfaces of a rear side electrode. CONSTITUTION:An EL membrane which consists of dielectric layers 3 and 5 and an EL luminous layer 4, and a coverage layer 6 which consists of a nitride at the upper and the side surfaces of a rear side electrode 7 are furnished. As a nitride used for the coverage layer 6, silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, and the like are available, and such nitrides are used as a single unit, a laminate body, or a mixture. The thickness of the coverage layer is preferable to be 3000 to 20000 A. In such a composition, a membranous EL panel with a sufficient dampproof effect and an excellent brightness life can be obtained.
