Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the fusion of copper wires with each other in an annealing process wherein the wires are heated along with a drum or as a bundle by applying and adhering ceramic powder to the surface of the drawn wire, and then winding the wire on the drum or bundling the wire. CONSTITUTION:When a copper wire 2 drawn by a wire drawing machine to a specified diameter is wound on a drum 3, ceramic powder 1 is applied and adhered to the surface of the wire 2. The flakes of BN, etc., are preferably used as the ceramic powder 1. The application and adhesion are carried out by mixing the ceramic powder 1 in a quick-drying solvent such as alcohol and dropping the solvent onto the wire 2. The space between the wound wires 2 is filled with the ceramic powder 1 which is chemically stable at high temp., and the contact of the wires 2 with each other is prevented. Accordingly, when the wire 2 is heated and annealed along with the drum 3, the wires 2 are not fused with each other. In addition, the ceramic powder 1 can be easily removed after annealing from the wire 2, as required, by a brush, etc.
