Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an algicide containing 3-chloro-N,N-dimethyl-propylamine mineral acid salt and a polyamine derived from dialkyldiallylammonium chloride and/or a polyamine sulfone derived from the above substance and SO2. CONSTITUTION:The objective algicide contains (a) a polyamine polysulfone having a recurring unit of formula I (R is lower alkyl), etc., and produced by the copolymerization of dialkyldiallylammonium chloride (A) and SO2 and/or a polyamine having a recurring unit of formula II, etc., and produced by the homopolymerization of the compound A and (b) a 3-chloro-N,N- dimethylpropylamine mineral acid salt at a weight ratio (a:b) of (95-50):(5-50). The growth and proliferation of green algae in industrial water and cleaning tower can be suppressed by the use of the algicide. Furthermore, the agent is effective in suppressing the proliferation of mastigotes which take the decomposition product of algae as nutrient source.
