Abstract

PURPOSE:To heat cleanly and rapidly a mold surface and to make the surface of a molded item good, by inserting a heating apparatus having halogen electric lamps between molds while the molds are opened to heat the mold surface, taking out the heating apparatus between the molds, clamping the molds and carrying out moldings. CONSTITUTION:Straight tube type halogen electric lamps 2 are placed side by side on the outer face side of a containing window part 5 of a frame member 4 and wiring materials 7 of the halogen electric lamps 2 are set in the flowing path 6 of a cooling medium. In injection molding process, while mold 1 are opened, a pair of heating apparatus 3 where the halogen electric lamps are placed is inserted between the molds 1 and the surfaces of the molds 1 are heated up to about 110-130 deg.C by turning on the halogen electric lamp 2. Thereafter, the heating apparatus 3 is pulled out between the molds 1 and mold clamping is rapidly carried out. A molten resin is then injected in a cavity. Because of small temp. difference between the resin temp. and the mold 1 surface temp., no thin skin is produced on the resin surface and curing of the resin takes place after stopping of the resin flow. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a molded item having very flat surface condition even if composite materials are made of glass fiber and carbon fiber with a resin.
