Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain good recording characteristics and reproducing characteristics by alternately laminating specific recording layers and reproducing layers plural times, thereby forming a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic layer 20 is formed by alternately laminating the recording layers 14 and the recording layers 13 plural times. The recording layers 14 and the recording layers 13 have the compsn. expressed by Mn1-x-yAxDy. The recording layers 14 are crystalline and the reproducing layers 13 are mainly amorphous. In the formula, A denotes at least one kind of the element selected from Al, Ga, In, Sb, Bi, Te, Se, Sn, Pb, and As; D denotes at least one kind of the element selected from Ge, Si, C, B, P, Cu, Zn, Ti, and Pt; (x), (y) are respectively in 0.1<=x<=0.6, 0.1<=y<=0.6 ranges. The magnetic layer which are outstanding in both the recording characteristics and reproducing characteristics is thereby obtd. and the high stability and good environmental resistance are obtd.
