Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve reliability in preventing a working fluid flowing in a heat exchanger from freezing at the time of space heating operation by a method wherein when the temp. of the working fluid flowing in the heat exchanger is equal to a designated value or less, a temp. detection means discovers this fact and a heat medium is caused to flow into the steam heat exchanger from an introducing pipe for the heat medium. CONSTITUTION:When hot water heating the outside air returns to an outlet header pipe 25 and its temp. is equal to about 15 deg.C or less at the time of space heating operation, a thermometer 37 for the hot water and a temp. switch 47 detect this fact and open an air-operated valve 41 through an solenoid valve 45. As a result, steam is admitted to an inlet header pipe 23 from a steam introducing pipe 39 and the temp. of the hot water flowing in the pipe 23, a coil tube 27, and the pipe 25 is increased to be able to prevent the hot water from freezing. Consequently, the damage of the tube 27 and the pipe 25 caused by the volume expansion based on freezing can be prevented and the soundness of a cold and hot water coil 9 can be maintained and the reliability of ventilation air conditioning equipment can be improved.
