Abstract
PURPOSE:To decide a clip voltage with high accuracy and to obtain a sharp clip characteristic by providing a differential amplifier whose noninverting input terminal connects to a reference voltage source generating a clip reference voltage, whose inverting input terminal connects to an input terminal and whose output terminal connects to a base of a clip transistor(TR). CONSTITUTION:A base of a TR Q3 being a means whose emitter clips an output of an amplifier stage 10 is connected not to a reference voltage source VCL but to an output of a differential amplifier 20 comprising differential pair TRs Q4, Q5, a bias current source IEO and a load resistor RLO, its inverting input of the differential amplifier connects to an output of the amplifier stage 10 via an emitter follower circuit 21 comprising a TR Q6 and a current source IEEI, and the noninverting output connects to the reference voltage source VCL via an emitter follower circuit 22 comprising a TR Q7 and a current source IEEZ. The TR Q3 is cut off by a minute change of DELTAVO with respect to the reference voltage source VCL, at an output terminal VOUT and the output terminal VOUT is not clamped. On the other hand. the TR Q3 is conductive with respect to a change such as -DELTAv from the VCL and the output terminal VOUT is clamped to the voltage VCL.
