Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the simple and compact structure of a steering device by connecting a front wheel steering mechanism and a rear wheel steering mechanism through a differential gear device. CONSTITUTION:When front wheels are steered rightward, an interlocking shaft 1 is turned in the direction G in proportion to the rightward steering speed and the steering angle, and the ring gear 3 of a differential gear device 2 is turned rightward. When a car speed signal J supplied from a car speed sensor 5 is lower than a standard car speed, a control mechanism 7 drives a motor 8 and revolves an output shaft 10. Accompanied with the revolution in the direction M of the output shaft 10, a shaft 13 is revolved in the direction L through spur gears 11 and 14, and the front and rear wheels are steered in the reverse directions each other. When the car speed J is larger in comparison with a standard car speed range, the control device 7 applies brake for suppressing the revolution of the output shaft 10 onto the motor 8, and the revolution of a side gear 12 is suppressed, and the front and rear wheels are steered in the same phase.
