Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer which can be quickly converted to a sol in processing to attain sufficient fluidity to enable automatic metering and can be dried with little drying energy, by forming a wet polymer block from an aqueous dispersion of a vinyl chloride polymer, disintegrating the block and drying the product. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous dispersion of a vinyl chloride polymer for paste is converted to a wet polymer block having a water-content of 15-25wt.% and the block is mechanically disintegrated into wet particles having an average particle diameter of <=1,000mum. The particles are dried with a gas flow of <=70 deg.C while keeping the temperature of the particles to <=50 deg.C to obtain dried polymer particles having an average particle diameter of <=1,000mum.
