Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve printing quality at the time of multiple printing by causing paper to retrogress by a prearranged value prior to initial printing after page feeding of paper and allow the paper to stick to a platen without shifting a scheduled printing position. CONSTITUTION:When paper 4 is fed by one page, a gap 19 is formed between a platen 2 and the paper. Under this condition, the platen 2 is caused to rotate clockwise by a prearranged angle theta to drive a tractor 3 through a platen gear 5 and a tractor gear 11. As a result, the paper is caused to retrogress to an arrow direction, for instance, by about 1/6 of one page by rotation of the platen 2. Later, the platen 2 is caused to rotate counterclockwise by a prearranged angle theta and thereby the tractor 3 is caused to drive the paper 4 forward by the same value as the latter retrogresses. Then this paper 4 is shaked by forward and backward movements and the perforation 4a of the paper near a baling roller 12 is caused to advance to eliminate bending. Thus the paper 4 is allowed to stick to the platen 2 closely.
