Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve radiotherapy of the affected part while observing that part, by alternately emitting curative radiation and low-energy X rays to be received by an X-ray receptor. CONSTITUTION:Low-energy hot electrons are emitted from a hot electron emitting cathode 4 and passed through an electron lens 6 to be collided with a target 5, where the electrons given rise to a low-energy X ray 102 which passes through a patient 103 to be received by an X-ray receptor 11, and then visualized through a TV monitor 12. Image data obtained immediately after irradiation with the X ray are compared with those obtained during irradiation by a comparator 15. High-energy electron beams are emitted as radiation 100 from an acceleration means 2 and collided with the target 5 inside an X-ray generating means 3 to be converted into high-energy X rays 101. The X ray passing through a flattener 10 are directed onto the affected part 104 of a patient 103 to serve for treatment. Control is made by pulse signals of a control pulse generator 7 to that the high-energy X rays 101 may be generated when the flattener 10 is in the X-ray passage and the low-energy X rays otherwise.
