Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a sprayed deposit excellent in corrosion resistance and wear resistance, by thermally spraying a self-fluxing alloy in which specific amounts of Cr, B, Si, Nb, etc., are added to Ni to undergo alloying on the surface of a base material and then subjecting the resulting sprayed deposit to fusing treatment at a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:A self-fixing alloy has a composition consisting of, by weight, 13-25% Cr, 1.0-4.5% B, 1.5-5.0% Si, 0.3-2.0% C, Nb in an amount satisfying the relation in Nb<[(atomic weight)X0.2X(carbon wt.%)], and the balance Ni. The powder of this self-fluxing alloy is sprayed on a base material 5 by means of a thermal spraying gun 4, by which a sprayed deposit 6 is formed. Since this sprayed deposit 6 is usually porous, the sprayed deposit excellent in corrosion resistance and wear resistance can be formed by fusing the above sprayed deposit by means of heating at 1,000-1,100 deg.C to carry out sealing treatment.
