[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to wicks for combustion appliances such as kerosene stoves and kerosene stoves with upper and lower wicks, and particularly to wicks.

Recently, a warp knitting method called latselle knitting has been used, in which weft yarns (when formed on a core, become warp yarns) are repeatedly folded and arranged to form multiple warp yarns (when formed on a core, they become weft yarns). A knitted core for knitting has been proposed, but it has the disadvantage that the spaces between each weft bundle become sparse and gaps occur, which reduces the amount of fuel absorbed and increases the amount of oil leakage when the equipment falls over. .

Attempts have been made to overcome the above drawbacks by knitting the two layers of weft bundles so that they are slightly shifted during knitting, but the bending and stretching sections formed only by the weft yarn groups below the core are mixed up in a complicated manner, making bending and stretching difficult. In addition to making the core smoother, when the core is lowered, it may fold over and get stuck in the core housing cylinder, making it impossible to raise or lower, and when the core falls, the fuel equivalent to the lower part of the core inside the core housing cylinder will overflow, increasing oil leakage. This caused problems such as soiling the floor surface, causing fires, and poor combustion due to excessive fuel suction.

The present invention has been devised in consideration of the above points, and will be described below with reference to the drawings. Reference numeral 1 denotes a fuel wick, in which a plurality of weft threads 1a, 1b each made of a yarn having good fuel wicking properties such as cotton fiber and the like is gathered to a desired thickness are repeatedly folded back in a zigzag pattern to form two layers, and a plurality of warp threads 2, 2a are knitted into a plurality of rows at appropriate intervals by a means such as chain knitting to bind the weft threads, and the warp threads 2 of one layer are continuously knitted while being entangled at appropriate positions with the warp threads 2a of the other layer, so that the weft threads 1a, 1b are knitted integrally into two layers.

In addition, during this knitting, the two-layer weft rows 1a, 1b
The fiber bundles are knitted so as to be slightly staggered so that each fiber bundle has a uniformly dense thickness and no gaps between the fiber bundles. In the figure, numeral 3 is a bending portion formed only by wefts 1a and 1b without warps 2 and 2a.

In the present invention, during the above-mentioned knitting process, weft blanks 1c and 1d are provided at appropriate locations in the lower part of one layer of the fuel suction part core 1, so that the density of the fiber bundles is made sparse.

Various methods can be considered for knitting to provide the weft blank areas 1c and 1d, but as an example, as shown in FIG. The weft yarns 1a and 1b are knitted by shortening the yarn swing width of the turns of the respective weft yarns 1a and 1b so that they are provided alternately.

FIG. 2 shows another embodiment, in which no weft blank areas are provided in the weft rows 1b of one layer, and weft blanks 1c are intermittently formed only in the weft rows 1a of the other layer. It is organized like this.

Further, as shown in FIG. 11, it is also possible to form a weft blank portion 1e in the entire lower part of the weft row row 1a group of only one layer.

Note that the form, size, etc. of the weft yarn blank portion may be appropriately set in accordance with the fuel suction amount, the overall size of the core, the size of the core accommodating portion 4 of the device, etc.

Therefore, a heat-resistant combustion wick 5 knitted or woven with heat-resistant fibers such as glass fibers is integrally sewn to the upper part of the fuel wicking part wick 1 of the present invention, cut to a certain size, and wound into a cylindrical shape. Form into a cylindrical core as shown in the figure.

Since the present invention is configured as described above, the following features can be obtained.

(1) The upper part of the wick is uniformly densely knitted, while the lower part is knitted relatively sparsely, so that the wick can be bent and stretched smoothly when moving up and down.

(2) When the core is interposed between the inner core cylinder and the outer core cylinder, it can be installed without creating a gap, which eliminates the causes of failure in extinguishing due to oil leakage or unnecessary draft action.

(3) Since the number of fibers at the bottom of the wick can be arbitrarily reduced, excessive fuel wicking can be suppressed and the amount of fuel wick can be adjusted.

(4) Since the weight of the lower part of the wick can be reduced, the amount of oil overflowing when the wick falls and falls can be reduced, thereby preventing soiling the floor surface or causing a fire.

(5) Since the lower part of the wick is sparse, it is possible to prevent the disadvantage that when the wick is lowered, the bent fiber bundles get mixed up in a complicated manner and get folded and caught in the wick storage tube, making it impossible to raise and lower the wick.
