Abstract

PURPOSE:To set a rotor coil exciting circuit electrically and independently and improve reliability and form a compact unit, by transmitting the comparing signal of a voltage comparing circuit non-electrically to a switching element. CONSTITUTION:A charging generator 1 is provided with a rotor coil 12 and a stator coil 11, and the output of the stator coil 11 is connected in parallel to a main rectifier 13 and a sub-rectifier 14 for avoiding full-wave rectification. To the voltage comparing circuit 22 of a voltage regulator 2, the input of the voltage of a battery 3 is provided, and an ignition switch 5 is connected. By the voltage comparing circuit 22, the battery voltage is compared with reference voltage, and when the battery voltage is lower than the reference voltage, then command is issued to an excitation controlling circuit 21, and the rotor coil 12 is excited. The input side and the output side of the voltage comparing circuit 22 are insulated from each other by a photo-coupler, and so the exciting circuit of the rotor coil 12 is set independently from a battery voltage system, as a whole and high tension can be applied to this circuit.
