Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve various characteristics of a reflector antenna in terms of the molding radiation directivity by combining a rectangular corrugated horn containing a conductor fin formed on its outer wall and the corrugations provided on the two counter inner walls. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular corrugated horn 6 contains the corrugations 9 and 10 provided on two counter faces of an inner tube wall together with a conductor fin 7 formed on the outer wall respectively. That is, the corrugations 9 and 10 are formed on the inner wall of a face where the horn 6 touches a circular corrugated horn 1 and on the inner wall of a face orthogonal to a face containing the fin 7. Then both horns 1 and 6 are combined together into a primary radiator and a reflecting antenna is obtained from a combination of said primary radiator and a reflector 5. The radio waves are radiated to the reflector 5 from the primary radiator. Thus, it is possible to secure the coincidence between the E-face and H-face radiation characteristics in terms of the electromagnetic field distribution of the primary radiator with the conventional arrangement space maintained as it is. As a result, the side lobe characteristics, the cross polarized wave characteristics, etc., are improved in terms of the molding radiation directivity of a reflector antenna.
