Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a titled printing plate which has high mechanical strength and printability, is capable of forming good images and is less degraded in electrophotographic characteristic even at and under a high temp. and high humidity by using a specific acrylic copolymer as a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The resin prepd. by copolymerizing (meth)acrylate contg. an epoxy group having reactivity with a monomer component having the well balanced electrophotographic characteristics, radically polymerizable itaconic acid and acrylamide is used as the binder resin. Since the reactive group is present, the resin is cured by heating to the extent of drying at the time of making a planographic printing plate. The cured resin is not deformable by the subsequent heat and pressure. Since acrylamide has the effect of improving hydrophilicity, the printability is sufficiently good even if the resin contains a lipophilic phthalocyanine pigment. The moisture resistance of the resin is improved by the itaconic acid which is uniformly distributed in the non- polymerized unit and, therefore, the receptive potential and dark attenuation are hardly degraded even if the acrylamide slightly weak to the high temp. and high humidity exists in the resin.
