Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a horizontally rotating shuttle for a sewing machine capable of eliminating an opener mechanism and reducing noise by providing an inner shuttle with a bobbin thread delivery port in the range of <=180 deg. in the rotating direction of an outer shuttle with a line segment connecting the center of a bobbin support and an inner shuttle stopper as a reference and making the shuttle shaft of the horizontally rotating shuttle into the same diameter. CONSTITUTION: The inner shuttle 1 is provided with the bobbin thread delivery port 5 in the range of <=180 deg. in the clockwise rotation of the outer shuttle 2 with the line segment connecting the center of the bobbin support 6 and the inner shuttle stopper 3 as the reference and the shuttle shaft 22 of the horizontally rotating shuttle is made into the same diameter. When the sewing machine is rotated, the outer shuttle 2 is rotated in the direction of an arrow A. Besides, a bobbin thread 51 from a bobbin 10 through the bobbin thread delivery port 5 is delivered in the direction of rotating the inner shuttle 1 in the opposite direction to the arrow A. The delivery tension is generated in the opposite direction to the rotation in the direction of the arrow A of the outer shuttle 2, thus it is offset with frictional torque in the direction of the arrow A generated between the inner shuttle 1 and the outer shuttle 2, then rotary force acting on the inner shuttle stopper 3 is limited and made almost zero. Thus, since pressurizing force to the stopper 9a or 9b of the inner shuttle stopper 3 hardly acts, even under a condition without the opener mechanism, a needle thread 50 passes through the inner shuttle stopper 3.
