Abstract

PURPOSE:To collect the trace information at a fixed interval desired by an operator by storing the number of steps needed for tracing a program to be traced and collecting the trace information for each execution of said number of steps. CONSTITUTION:The number of executing steps of a program to be traced which is needed for each collection of trace information is informed to a CPU 1 from a console 4. This informed step number is stored in a main memory 2. When the processing is started, a trace flag and an instruction executing counter are initialized and the instruction of the program to be traced is carried out by one step. Then +1 is added to the counter value and this counter value is compared with the value of an executing step number storing area. When the coincidence is obtained between both values, the collection of trace information is started. The various trace information are delivered to the console 4 via a channel controller 3. When the collection of trace information is through, an end flag is checked. If the flag is set at 1, the processing is through. While the execution is carried on for the program to be traced.
