PURPOSE:To enhance image quality by forming an elastic material layer having a thickness capable of intercepting an effect of the hardness of a core metal. CONSTITUTION:The drum of a photosensitive body 1 to be used for bearing a latent image is formed in a typical example by fixing the elastic material layer 3 on the metallic core shaft 2, forming the supporting layer 4 of a photosensitive layer 5 around the layer 3, and further forming the layer 5 around the support 4. The rubber roller of the layer 3 is made of a foam rubber or a nonfoam rubber having an ASKER C-type hardness of <=70 deg.C, and it has the range of thickness enough to intercept an effect of the core 2, thus permitting uneven contact between the drum 1 and a developing roller 6 to be extremely reduced and the homogeneous photosensitive layer to be formed, and accordingly, an image uniform in density and free from void to be obtained.
