Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable printing to be performed only when bar codes can be printed by providing the first printing control means for execution of printing on label paper when a disconnection position detected by a disconnection checking means is located at other than a bar code printing position. CONSTITUTION:A printer controller 30 provided on a printing part 19 transmits disconnection data to each thermosensitive element 32ia,..., 33ib, and detects the disconnection position of these thermosensitive elements upon the check results by a disconnection checking circuit 34 at the time of transmission of the disconnection check data. Next, when a disconnection position detected by the controller 30 is located at other than a bar code printing position, the controller performs printing on label paper. When the disconnection position corresponds to a bar code printing position, the controller inhibits bar code printing process.
