Abstract
PURPOSE: To make an image material easily handlable by making microparticles, after the microparticles are exposed to radiation, release an image forming agent or react with an image forming agent to become transmissive to a developer which forms a visible image. CONSTITUTION: This image material has a base body 12 and a layer 14 of microparticles 16, and the microparticles 16 consist of a photosensitive compsn. including a depolymerizable polymer mixed with an image forming agent. When the layer is exposed to electromagnetic waves having a chemical effect through a mask M, microparticles 16A in a unexposed area 18 are not changed but microparticles 16B in an exposed area 20 release an image forming agent or react with a developer to form a visible image 20 and the microparticles 16B become transmissive to the developer. Thus, the obtd. material can be easily handled.
