Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the fixability of a toner at low temp. as well as the offsetting and blocking resistances by using a resin binder contg. a crystalline polymer having a prescribed m.p. and an amorphous polymer having a prescribed glass transition point and by carrying out a heat treating stage. CONSTITUTION:A resin binder contg. 0.5-50wt.% crystalline polymer having 50-120 deg.C m.p. Tm and 99.5-50wt.% amorphous polymer having 50-80 deg.C glass transition point Tg is used. The resin binder is passed through a kneading stage and the kneaded material is heat treated by holding at a temp. between the kneading and grinding temps. for a certain time with a heating means. The kneaded material is then cooled to the grinding temp. and ground. The melting start temp. of the resulting toner is moderately lowered, the fixability at low temp. is improved and the offsetting and blocking resistances are also improved.
