Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease an operator's exposure to radiations by mounting a filter cartridge to a sampler in a hermetic chamber, adsorbing a waste radioactive gas therein, detaching the used cartridge from the sampler and housing the cartridge into a housing bag. CONSTITUTION:The filter cartridge charged from a filter cartridge supplying part is mounted to in a funnel-shaped cartridge receiving part 25 of the sampler in the hermetic chamber 18. The gas contg. the radioactive material is then introduced through sampling pipes 48a, 48b and is adsorbed in the cartridge 22. A sampler cap 31a is thereafter moved by a cylinder 23a by which the fixing of the cartridge 22 is released and the cartridge is dropped by its own weight downward by a cylinder 23b. The cartridge is housed into the housing bag communicating with the chamber 18 and is hermetically sealed therein. The exchange of the cartridge adsorbed of the radioactive material is thereby automatically executed and the operator's exposure to the radiations is decreased.
