Abstract

PURPOSE:To make uniform the response sensitivity to pressure by making a disc spring to be used in a switch etc., through such processes as punching, press, heat treatment, and surface finish, and therein specifying the radius of curvature at each corner. CONSTITUTION:A plate with thickness t is punched off into a doughnut-shaped disc as an intermediate product to a disc spring. After press processing, a heat treatment is made to give it resilience, followed by surface finish by barrel processing to form a disc spring 1 used in a switch etc. The barrel processing shall give a radius of curvature at corners A, B of 0.15-0.08mm and a surface roughness of 0.8-0.2mum. Even though a switch is formed from several pieces of such disc springs 1 put one over another, the roundness at the corners allows intrusion of lubricant between the surfaces to reduce friction, that should accomplish uniform response sensitivity to the pressure.
