Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a conduction transfer recorder using a heat-generating ribbon repeatedly with superior economy and having little possibility of failure, by a method wherein, the heat-generating ribbon is brought into close contact with an ink ribbon, an electric current is passed through the heat-generating ribbon from a recording electrode to a return electrode, and in this manner an image is formed on a recording medium in contact with an ink layer of the ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:A heat-generating ribbon 11 held between a return electrode 16 and a pinch roller 17 is fed in the direction of an arrow. An ink ribbon 12 is fed in the direction of an arrow by pinch-rollers 18, 19. A recording current A passes from a signal electrode 15a through a resistance base film 11a of the heat-generating ribbon 11 to flow towards the return electrode 16 in a conductive layer 11b, thereafter again flowing through the resistance base film 11a to the return electrode 16. The heat generated in the resistance base film 11a due to the current A is dispersed into the conductive layer 11b, a base film 12a, and an ink layer 12b to soften, melt, or sublimate an ink of the ink layer 12b to form an image on a recording medium 20. After the completion of recording, the heat-generating ribbon 11 is separated from the ink ribbon 12 to be repeatedly used.
