Abstract

PURPOSE:To accomplish a transfer recording of good quality on a non-impact basis by transferring a fluidized portion of a thermoplastic solid ink on the intended body in an image with an electric field applied thereon after it is heated in a close access to the body. CONSTITUTION:A transferring medium 7 such as plain paper is moved in the direction of the arrow with the opposite side thereof sliding on the action face of a thermal head 10, while being kept in contact with a solid ink layer 6' on a solid ink carrier 6. The base material 6'' is maintained at the zero potential and therefore, the moment information is inputted to the thermal head 10, the solid ink layer 6'' corresponding to the heat generating sections 10' and 10'' changes from the solid phase to the liquid phase. As the thermal head 10 is connected to a bias power source 9, an electric field is developed between the head 10 and the carrier base material 6'' to causes a static attraction of ink fluidized toward the thermal head. In this manner, the ink 6' can be transferred accurately on the transferring medium 7 to record.
