Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a pre-trimming target resistance value or one close thereto easily by forming a projecting part, whereby a pair of electrodes have an area of small facing distance and an area of large facing distance, and by finely adjusting a pre-trimming resistance value between the electrodes by changing the ratio of the area of small facing distance and that of large facing distance. CONSTITUTION:A thick film resistance 4 is formed together with a pair of electrodes 2 and 3 on a circuit board 1, and such thick film resistance 4 is trimmed so that the resistance between the electrodes coincides with a target value. When manufacturing a thick film resistance in this way, the resistance 4 is formed by printing so that the above-mentioned pre-trimming resistance 4 has an area of small facing distance 5 as well as an area of large facing distance 6. By changing the ratio of the area of small facing distance and that of large facing distance, a pre-trimming resistance value between the electrodes 2 and 3 is finely adjusted. For example, a width difference W3 between width W1 of the area 5 and width W2 of the area 6 of the resistance 4 is made to be minimum unit when forming the resistance 4, while a pattern for the resistance 4 is so set that the pre-trimming target resistance value is approximately 80% of the final target resistance value.
