よつて機械的に連結されてなり、また前記前輪操
舵機構又は後輪操舵機構がハウジングに支持され
て軸方向移動時に車輪を転舵させるラツク軸を備
えるとともに前記ハウジングに回転可能に支持さ
れて前記ラツク軸のラツク歯に噛合するピニオン
を一体的に有し前記連結シヤフトに連結されるピ
ニオンシヤフトを備えてなる車両の前後輪操舵装
置において、前記ピニオンとラツク歯の噛合部よ
り後輪側に後輪の転舵角がゼロとなる位置に向け
て付勢する復帰スプリング機構を設けるとともに
、前記ハウジングと前記ピニオンシヤフト間に所
定量の回転によつて前記ピニオンとラツク歯の噛
合を解除する偏心カムを介装し、この偏心カムを
当該操舵システムの異常を検出する異常検出手段
からの異常検出信号に応答して作動する駆動装置
により所定量回転させるようにしたことを特徴と
