Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a gap to be stably maintained by letting the use of super conductive members as a rotor have no contact section with stationary members, but have repulsive force. CONSTITUTION:Let a bearing consist of a stationary body 1 comprising a magnetic pole 2 made of a laminated soft iron plate, an exciting coil 3, a container used concurrently as a magnetic path and the like, and of a rotor part 5a facing the magnetic pole 2 of a rotor 5 to be supported. The rotor part 5a is made of a super conductor, and is floated while being repulsed by the magnetic field generated in a gap 6 between the stationary body 1 and the rotor 5 upon energizing the exciting coil 3, thereby allowing the rotor 5 to be supported by the stationary body 1 by means of repulsive force without any sliding. When the gap becomes smaller, the repulsive force becomes greater in such a way that force is applied to the direction making the gap wider, and when the gap 6 becomes wider, the force is applied to the direction making thereof smaller so as to maintain the gap at a stable condition. The gap remains stable for the range from a stationary condition to a revolving condition at high speeds because the repulsive force is produced even when the rotor is at rest. This constitution therefore requires no lubricant, results in small loss with no sliding motion accompanied, and is thereby effective in maintaining the gap between the stationary body and the rotor at a stable condition against any displacement.
