Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an antislip resin composition which can give a beautiful coated surface having very high transparency and excellent antislip property, by mixing a transparent resin with ground alumina having a very low Fe2O3 content below a specified value and a relatively high visible light transmittance. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is prepared by mixing 100pts.wt. transparent resin (e.g., epoxy resin) with 50-400pts.wt. hard coarse particles of a mean particle diameter of 40-1000mu, formed by grinding alumina having an Fe2O3 content <=40ppm and a visible light transmittance >=85%. It is known that a coating resin containing an aggregate etc., is used to give flexibility or antislip property to the floor of a building, a pavement, etc., and corundum or the like is used as hard coarse particles. This coating resin has a blackish brown color because it contains a relatively large amount of iron, so that it cannot form a translucent layer which does not spoil the hue of the underground layer. According to this invention, it is possible to form a surface having a very high transparency and excellent antislip property, an antislip surface of a hue of white to light color or a translucent antilip surface which do not spoil the hue of the underground layer.
