Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled paint composition giving excellent chipping resistance by a single coating and giving overall coat having an excellent appearance without reduction of brightness of the top coat, which is prepared by compounding a paint composition with a specified amt. of a super-fine talc powder having a specified particle size.
CONSTITUTION: A paint composition is compounded with 2W20wt%, based on 100wt% total solids in said composition, super-fine talc powder of average particle size ≤2μ, contg. primary particles of which 90% or more has a particle size <5μ. Said talc powder is more spherical and has much larger specific surface area than the common talc powder because of the super-fine particle size, so that it is possible to obtain sufficient effect by a single coating of a compound contg. a small amt. of the talc powder.
