Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title polyamic acid from which a polyimide having various performances can be easily prepared, by reacting a specified diamine component with a tetracarboxylic acid anhydride. CONSTITUTION:A diamine component (A) comprising a hydroxy diamine of formula I (wherein Y is a bivalent organic group) is reacted with 0.9-1.1mol, per mol of component A, of a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (B) in an organic solvent to obtain the title polyamic acid having structural units of formula II (wherein X is a tetravalent organic group) as repeating units.
