Abstract
PURPOSE:To completely remove foreign materials such as metal and potteries from glass pieces by immersing many glass pieces into infiltrating fluorescent dyestuff and thereafter allowing this fluorescent dyestuff to wash and remove and detecting the fluorescent dyestuff infiltrated and remained only in these foreign materials. CONSTITUTION:While placing crushed glass pieces 19 on a convayer 11 at every blocks and intermittently transferring them to the direction shown in an arrow, water 20 is blown thereon from shower type washers 12 to remove dirt. The blocks 19 of glass pieces after washing are dried with a dryer-type drying machine 13 provided to the downstream part of the washers 12. Then the blocks 11 placed on the convayer 11 after drying are immersed into infiltrating fluorescent dyestuff 21 filled in a liquid tank 14 for a prescribed time and fluorescent dyestuff 21 is infiltrated especially into the flows of metal and into fine holes of potteries being foreign materials. Then after washing the blocks 19 infiltrated with the dyestuff 21 again with the shower-type washer 15, these are dried 16. Thereafter the blocks 19 after drying are irradiated with ultraviolet rays from a block-lighted irradiator 17a to reflect the residual dyestuff 21 and finally sent to a selection position and these are allowed to fall to a disposable box 23 when foreign materials exist and intactly sent to the direction shown in the arrow when foreign materials do not exist.
