Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the direction of the offset voltage of a video signal constant and to eliminate signal distortion by providing switches in parallel to storage capacitors in the sample and hold circuit of an X driver for matrix panel display. CONSTITUTION:Circuits consisting of shift registers 1, video signal switches 2, storage capacitors 3, impedance converting amplifiers 4 whose gain is 1, and switches for converting their outputs to high impedance are connected by plural stages to constitute a normal X driver for display, but switches 12 are connected in this constitution in parallel to the capacitors 3. Then the switches 12 are turned on and off to obtain video signal = potential of storage capacitors 3 + offset voltage when the video signal is lower than the potential of a common line 14 or obtain the potential of the potential of storage capacitors 3 + offset voltage when said signal is lower. The potential of the storage capacitors 3 approximates the offset potential as compared with the video signal at all times and the video signal having no distortion can be outputted.
