Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily produce fine granular metal powder by flowing down molten metal in a tundish from a discharging hole while stirring and rotating to make drips, injecting atomizing medium to this and cooling. CONSTITUTION:A stirring rod 11 having stirring blades 12 with a rotating device 13 is rotated and the rotating motion is given to the molten metal 20 holding in the tundish 21. The rotated molten metal 20 is flowed down from the discharging hole 22 at the bottom of the tundish and dropped as the drips 24. Against these drips 24, the atomizing medium 25 in a tank 27 is injected from a ring-like atomizing nozzle 23 through a pressurized pump 26 to cool the drips 24. By this operation, as the molten metal 20 is rotated and further, made into drips 24, it is easily oxidized to make the fine granule. By this method, the fine granular powder metal is obtd. without increasing the production cost in simple apparatus.
